RSU OmniAir Certification for Intersect!

During Omniair’s annual plugfest, Orange Traffic and Intersect received the official OmniAir RSU (Road Side Unit) certification for its Intersect ECO card.

Blainville, QC

During Omniair’s annual plugfest, held for the first time in Canada, Orange Traffic and Intersect received the official OmniAir RSU (Road Side Unit) certification for its Intersect ECO card. The official certification was given to the team at the Transport Canada PMG facility in Blainville, Québec, where the plugfest was taken place. It is the very first canadian manufacturer certification for a Road-Side Unit to connect vehicles with infrastructure and the third supplier worldwide to achieve the certification.  Road-Side Units allow connectivity of vehicles with infrastructure to help cities achieve better efficiencies, provide more control and safety at intersections, as well as help reduce transportation’s GHG footprint.

OmniAir certification is important to ensure interoperability of equipment from various manufacturers, so that for example many brands of cars and of infrastructure equipment will work together to achieve safety and efficiency benefits. Intersect’s team is committed to prepare today’s infrastructure for tomorrow’s technology.
